“You Are the Light of the World” 2026 Spring Fundraiser

Parish Challenge Official Rules

1. Sponsor

The “You Are the Light of the World” Spring Fundraiser Parish Challenge (“Challenge”) is

sponsored by Iowa Catholic Radio, Inc., a nonprofit, noncommercial educational radio

network headquartered in Des Moines, Iowa (“Sponsor”).

2. Challenge Period

The Challenge begins at 12:01 a.m. Central Time on March 10 and ends at 11:59 p.m.

Central Time on March 13 (“Challenge Period”).

Only qualifying gifts received by Sponsor during the Challenge Period will count toward

parish totals.

For online gifts, the timestamp recorded by Sponsor’s donation platform will determine

eligibility. For mailed gifts, the gift must be received (not merely postmarked) by 5:00 p.m.

Central Time on March 13 to qualify.

3. Eligibility

Participation is open to individuals who make qualifying gifts during the Challenge Period

and designate an eligible Catholic parish located within Iowa Catholic Radio’s listening

area.

Employees and board members of Iowa Catholic Radio may make gifts but their donations

will not count toward parish totals for purposes of determining the winner.

4. How the Challenge Works

During the Challenge Period, listeners may support Iowa Catholic Radio and honor their

parish priest and parish staff by designating their parish when making a qualifying gift.

A qualifying gift is defined as:

• Enrollment in a new monthly recurring gift (any dollar amount), OR

• A one-time gift of $100 or more.• Each qualifying gift will contribute its full dollar amount to the total for the

designated parish.

• If a donor designates more than one parish, the gift will be counted only toward the

parish designated as primary by the donor at the time of donation.

• Pledges that are not fulfilled during the Challenge Period do not count toward totals.

• Matching gifts from employers or third parties will count only if received during the

Challenge Period.

• Donor-Advised Fund distributions will count only if received during the Challenge

Period.

• All determinations regarding qualifying gifts are made in Sponsor’s sole discretion

and are final.

5. Determination of Winning Parishes

At the conclusion of the Challenge Period, Sponsor will calculate the cumulative total

dollar amount of all qualifying gifts designated to each parish.

The five (5) parishes generating the highest total dollar amounts of qualifying gifts during

the Challenge Period will be declared the winning parishes, ranked from highest to fifth-

highest total.

In the event of a tie affecting placement within the top five, the parish with the greater

number of individual donors during the Challenge Period will receive the higher ranking. If

still tied, placement will be determined by coin toss conducted by Sponsor management.

All determinations are final.

5. Prize

Each of the top five (5) parishes will receive one (1) complimentary lunch for its parish

priest and parish staff, provided by a local Chick-fil-A restaurant.

Lunch will be provided for up to fifty (50) individuals per parish.

Approximate retail value per parish not to exceed $750.

If a parish has fewer than fifty staff members, the prize will be limited to the actual number

of attendees. If a parish exceeds fifty individuals, Sponsor is not obligated to provide meals

beyond fifty persons.Prize is non-transferable and may not be redeemed for cash.

6. Tie-Breaking Procedure

In the event of a tie in total qualifying dollar amounts, the parish with the greater number of

individual donors during the Challenge Period will be declared the winner.

If a tie still exists, the winner will be determined by a coin toss conducted by Sponsor

management. Sponsor’s determination is final.

7. Notification

The winning parish will be notified on or about March 19 and must confirm acceptance

within seven (7) days of notification or the prize may be forfeited.

8. Publicity

By participating, donors agree that Sponsor may use the name of the winning parish and

related promotional materials for on-air, online, and social media announcements without

additional compensation.

9. General Conditions

Sponsor reserves the right to:

• Verify eligibility of gifts

• Disqualify any donation that does not comply with these rules

• Modify, suspend, or terminate the Challenge if necessary due to technical issues or

circumstances beyond its control

• Sponsor’s decisions are final in all matters relating to the Challenge.

10. Noncommercial Educational Notice

Iowa Catholic Radio is a noncommercial educational broadcast station. Donations made

during the Challenge support the religious and educational mission of the organization.This Challenge is a fundraising incentive based on objective donation totals and does not

involve a raffle, lottery, or random drawing.
